MNS is offering synchro camps in August through Minnetonka Aquatics for new swimmers 11 and under. Please review program details and register online via the Minnetonka Aquatics website.

About MNS
The Minnesota Synchronettes(MNS) is a non-profit US Synchronized Swimming(USSS) club. The club offers instruction in synchronized swimming to athletes in the Minneapolis West Metro area and provides a way for local synchronized swimmers of all ages to compete in the USSSI State, Regional, Zone and US Junior Olympics Championship Competitions. The club also provides training for Varsity High athletes during the high school synchro off-seasons. MNS is for those who like music, swimming, dancing, having fun and team camaraderie as well as athletes with a passion for synchro and a desire to excel in the sport.

Congratulations to Synchronette Anya Melson and US National 12 and Under National Team!

The US National 12 and Under Team took gold at the UANA Pan American Synchronized Swimming Championships in the 12 and Under team final. The US finished with 133.7600 points. Canada was second at 130.6655 and Colombia was third with 120.2881.

The 12 & Under National Team includes Ivy Davis, Megumi Field, Keana Hunter, Claire Kim, Deborah Lee, Anya Melson*, Riley Morgan, Ashlyn Oh, Maya Schwickert, and Ashlyn Wang.

*Anya Melson was named the Captain for the 2016 National Team.

Joanne Kutzler named North Zone Coach of the Year
We are proud to announce that our own Head Coach, Joanne Kutzler was chosen as North Zone Coach of the Year at our recent North Zone Meet. (2016 NORTH ZONE JUNIOR & SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP 13-15 AGE GROUP CHAMPIONSHIP COLLEGIATE NORTH REGIONAL)

Congratulations to 11 year old Anya Melson !!!
Minnesota Synchronette Anya Melson was recently named to the 2016 12 & under US National Squad. She placed 7th overall at the third and final phase of National Trials held in Mesa, AZ on April 10, 2016. Anya is our third 12 & un National Team Trials participant and our third member named to the 12 & un National Squad!!!

The US currently has 12 & un, 13-15, Junior, and Senior National Squads that represent the US at various international championships. The US selection process generally consists of 2-3 Phases/Trials where eligible top swimmers compete in skills, figures, and special trials routines. Up to 16 are selected for the National squads for additional training and possible foreign competitions representing the US.

Nine Minnesota Synchronettes have qualified for and competed at various National Team Trials, including: Elise Cordo, Zofi Kudak-Field, Sarah Urke, Madeline Carlson, Haley Ruegemer, Amanda Urke, Lexi Wagner, Sarah Cao, and most recently Anya Melson. The following five Synchronettes have been named to US National Teams/Squads:

  • Sarah Urke     2008 13-15 National Team
  • Lexi Wagner    2013 First 11-12 National Team
  • Amanda Urke  2014 Junior/Senior National Squad
  • Sarah Cao       2014 12 & under National Squad
  • Anya Melson   2016 12 & un National Squad
